According to Bloomberg, the chief economic advisor of US President Trump said in the coming days, senior Trump administration officials will visit China to promote China to deal with the extensive trade frictions problem.
“It will involve a wide range of areas and all the controversies will be discussed,” Kudrow, director of the White House National Economic Council, said in an interview with CNBC on Thursday. Kudlow said that the delegation is expected to include Finance Minister Nuchin and trade representative Robert Lighthizer, who himself will also be among them.
Trump said this week that its government officials will visit China within a few days and added that there is a great deal of possibility for the two countries to reach an agreement.
Kudlow stated that the United States wants to discuss China’s unfair trade practices and technology-related issues and so on.“They have trade barriers and tariff issues. We want to open up some markets,” he said. “I have high expectations for this. I am always optimistic about this.”
U.S.-China relations experts doubt whether this visit will allow breakthroughs in brewing trade disputes between the world’s two largest economies.Trump proposed to impose tariffs on China’s imports of $150 billion, while Beijing said that it will retaliate against various products such as soybeans and aircraft from the United States.
