Introduction Cylinder Barrel
Silicon carbide cylinder barrel,is a new type of ceramic products.Its main raw material is a first-class high-quality silicon carbide,purity is above 98.5%,and all the indicators are ideal,the bulk density is 3.02g/cm3.The mohs hardness of the silicon carbide grinding barrel is 9.5,and new mohs harness is 15.We also added some Germany imported chemical dispersants, binders and reinforcing agents.Therefore,our silicon carbide cylinder barrel have the advantages of light weight,high hardness,corrosion resistance,high temperature resistance,good heat dissipation,good toughness,large compressive strength and long service life.
Method for manufacturing silicon carbide cylinder barrel include the following steps:
- Burdening:Add some reaction catalyst and additives to the silicon carbide,add water while stirring,then stir into slurry or powder material.
- Green blank forming:Put the slurry or powder material into the mold,through slip casting or isostatic pressing forming technology to produce a corresponding size silicon carbide cylinder barrel green blank.
- Green blank drying、repairing and sintering:Dry the green blank,then repair the dried green blank,after repaired,put the green blank with silicon alloy into vacuum furnace and then sintering.
- Finished processing after sintered:The sintered silicon carbide cylinder barrel is mounted on a CNC machining center for finishing.The silicon carbide cylinder barrel we make not only has excellent wear resistance properties, but also has high hardness, high dimensional accuracy, and long service life.

Characteristics of silicon carbide cylinder barrel:
- Light weight,high cost effective performance.
- Good heat dissipation, thermal conductivity is 130W/M.K (20°C)
- High hardness,more impact resistance,erosion and abrasion resistance than traditional wear resistance ceramics such as alumina and zirconia.
- Low comprehensive operating cost,high cost effective performance,which is 5 to 10 times as much as general wear resistance materials.
Application of silicon carbide cylinder barrel:
- The sand mill industry,as the inner cylinder,it can effectively isolate the sand mill inner cavity from outer tank,and free from erosion and corrosion of materials and media.
- Mechanical industry, as a bushing in mechanical pipe fittings, with a higher wear resistance effect.
- Mining industry, playing a higher wear resistance effect in mining equipment.
- Bushings in other high wear mechanical parts.
